"What is Workation?"
The term 'Workation' is a coined word originating from Europe and America, combining 'Work' and 'Vacation'."
It’s believed that through the utilization of telework, a "new way of working and taking breaks" will become prevalent in society, allowing individuals to combine "work and vacation" in favorable environments such as resort areas and tourist destinations that differ from their usual surroundings.
The effectiveness of various approaches to corporate work styles and vacation styles, such as combining business trips with vacations, incorporating work during paid leave, and not limited to corporate training, is expected.
"Nasu Workation by Tochigi Misawa Homes"
We have constructed the Nasu Workation facility in the midst of the abundant natural forest in Nasu. This building is designed to promote new ways of working.
Employees who usually reside in the Nasu area come here and carry out their regular duties. The facility is equipped with a working environment including copiers, networks, and other necessary amenities to ensure that they can perform their work as usual. They can also participate in online meetings from this facility.
In addition, many employees are conducting workations on a per-project team basis. Due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, communication had been lacking. However, various teams from different departments have been working and conducting meetings here, followed by socializing over meals to foster stronger connections. The majority of opinions indicate that this approach has led to more creative work.
And what makes this Nasu Workation possible is the operation and management provided by "TOWA Nasu Resort". They take care of everything, including cleaning and exchanging ideas, allowing us to fully entrust them with these responsibilities.
Another key aspect is the expertise we, Tochigi Misawa Homes, have developed in building vacation homes in the Nasu area. Over the past five years alone, we have constructed approximately 20 vacation homes, allowing us to refine our design techniques to best suit the unique climate of the Nasu region. We can address various challenges such as cold climates, sloping terrain, and humidity control.
By first constructing our own new workation facility, we have become capable of offering a comprehensive proposal that encompasses everything from design to operation and subsequent effectiveness.
